A Chilling Start: First Day of Filming 'The Reckoning'

Updated: Oct 2

Hello to all our devoted followers of 'The Reckoning',

Our journey has officially begun! January 2nd marked the first day of filming our much-anticipated film, and what a day it was. Set against the brisk and frosty backdrop of Memphis, IN, our crew and cast embarked on this cinematic adventure amidst the challenge of very cold weather.

Embracing the Chill

As dawn broke, Memphis, Indiana greeted us with a biting cold, a reminder of nature's unyielding presence. Armed with layers of clothing, steaming cups of coffee, and an unwavering spirit, our team was undeterred. The cold wasn't just a challenge to overcome; it became an integral part of our story, adding an authentic edge to our apocalyptic setting.

Filming Amidst Frost

Our first scenes were outdoor shots, crucial for setting the tone of 'The Reckoning.' The barren trees, the frost-covered ground, and the misty breaths of our actors added a visceral quality that embodied the essence of the films gritty theme. Daniel Lennox, Zach Hurley, and Deacon Grasty, portraying our central characters, delivered powerful performances that transcended the chill. Their dedication was palpable, as they immersed themselves into their roles, unaffected by the plummeting temperatures.

Teamwork in the Cold

The true stars of the day, however, were our incredible crew. Battling the cold, they ensured every detail was perfect, from lighting to sound to camera angles.

The production crew braved the early morning cold temperatures to prepare the set for filming.

It's days like these that highlight the importance of teamwork in filmmaking. Each member of our crew, from the grips to the makeup artists, played a vital role in bringing the magic of 'The Reckoning' to life.

Although the cast and crew faced tough filming conditions in the cold, the results have been nothing short of fantastic.

Warm Hearts in Cold Weather

There's something about tough conditions that brings people together. Amidst takes and set-ups, laughter and shared stories over hot beverages kept our spirits high. These moments of warmth (figurative, of course) amidst the cold exemplify the heart and soul behind 'The Reckoning.'

A Promising Start

As we wrapped up the day, the setting sun cast a golden glow over our set, a beautiful contrast to the cold day. It was a reminder of the beauty and resilience that lie at the heart of 'The Reckoning.' This first day of filming, challenging as it was, has set a promising tone for the rest of our shoot.

Until next time, stay warm and keep the faith!
